I came across a wonderful article: How Successful Writers Maintain Confidence. I highly recommend you take a few minutes out of your day to read it. While the author's focus is on writers, many of his suggestions can be applied to life in general (at least in my opinion).
Please let me know what you think!

- A professional writer is an amateur who didn't quit. - Richard Bach
- You don't find time to write. You make time. It's my job. - Nora Roberts
- Each morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most. - Buddha

Thanks for pointing out a good article. I especially like the suggestions about forcing yourself out of isolation.

Wendym enjoyed the article and the author is right when speaking of writing being a lonely profession but it's also filled with people you really want to meet even if you must create them yourself. Janet
ReplyDeleteGenerally great article and worth keeping in mind. I have trouble adhering to most aspects, as I'm sure each of us do from time to time, especially when we're confronted with things we'd rather not hear!
ReplyDeleteI'm also just cynical enough to suspect that Mr. Rinzler is using the article to drum up new customers for his paid editorial consulting business.
Still, generally great advice!
Thanks for sharing, Wendy!
PS: I am having the WORST troubles with AOL today. (At least I think it's AOL). That was my 3d attempt to post!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Chelle, Janet, and Terri. I'm glad you enjoyed the article. And you're right, Janet, I have lots of interesting people circulating in my head!
ReplyDeleteGreat post--thanks for linking to it!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Angela. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy, thanks for your post. I'm working with Sally Williamson. Hope you get some good feedback on your full. Think it's brilliant that you got your agent via Brenda's auction last year - money well spent!
ReplyDeleteMy fingers are crossed for both of us, Susan! (And for more than just good feedback!!!!!)
ReplyDeleteRead the article. Loved it. Tweeted and FB'd it!
ReplyDeleteHi Christine!
ReplyDeleteThe article really seems to have made the rounds. It showed up on my writers loops, too. But the more people who see it the better.
